How to get there?
Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas international airport receives all commercial flights arriving in Madrid. Barajas is located 12 kilometres northeast of the capital.
It currently has four terminals in operation. T4, inaugurated in February 2006, has received several awards for its praised design by architects Antonio Lamela and Richard Rogers. In addition, Madrid-Barajas has more than 138,000 m² of commercial and leisure space to occupy passengers' free time before their flight.
HOW TO GET AROUND
Metro: Line 8 (Nuevos Ministerios-Airport T4) connects the capital with Barajas International Airport - it takes less than 20 minutes to get to T4 and only 12 minutes to the rest of the terminals. https://www.metromadrid.es/es
To get around Madrid by public transport, you need to buy the Tarjeta Multi. This is a non-personal, contactless, rechargeable, multi-personal public transport card, which lasts for ten years and is used to hold the non-personal tickets of the fare system of the public transport service of the Community of Madrid.
Airport Express Bus: 24-hour service from Atocha (between 6:00 and 23:30) and Cibeles. With stops at O'Donnell (junction with Doctor Esquerdo), T1, T2 and T4. https://www.emtmadrid.es/Home
Suburban trains: the suburban train network offers this service between Príncipe Pio station and Barajas T4, with the new line C-1. This route departs every half hour. http://www.renfe.com/viajeros/cercanias/madrid/
Taxi: To take a taxi, you must go to the taxi rank. There is a fixed fare of €30 for services between the airport and the city centre (inside the m30 ring road).
